Fortify Software (Palo Alto, Calif.) announced customer wins, including Bank of America (Charlotte, N.C.), Fidelity (Boston) and Goldman Sachs (New York), for its automated software security solutions for building, testing and deploying secure applications.

HSBC-SAS to Fight Fraud

HSBC (London) has entered into a long-term partnership with Cary, N.C.-based SAS to develop solutions for payment card fraud detection, which are to be used in banking and other transaction monitoring applications.

Wells Fargo Buys Back Ops

San Francisco-based Wells Fargo Bank will acquire from Regulus Group (Napa, Calif.) the wholesale remittance processing operations that it had sold to the company in 1996 and 2000. Regulus will continue to provide retail remittance processing to Wells Fargo.

UBOC Selects IntraNet

Union Bank of California (San Francisco) signed a five-year agreement to use payment processing software from IntraNet (Newton, Mass.) as the hub of the bank's wholesale payments system.

UBS (Zurich) purchased a worldwide, unlimited license for Canoo's (Basel) UltraLightClient tools to create rich Web user interfaces based on Java standards.

M&S Seeks Data Quality

Marks & Spencer Money, a subsidiary of HSBC Bank (London) has chosen a data quality solution from Athanor (Dublin) to drive Basel II compliance. The solution provides a compliance data warehouse, along with data analysis and cleansing tools.

Wachovia Surveillance

For a digital video surveillance system to run across its retail banking facilities and corporate offices, Wachovia has selected digital video recorders and enterprise management software from March Networks (Ottawa). The Linux-based software will connect the bank's access control systems and alarm monitoring center with ATM and teller transaction data.

Fidelity Helps Fifth Third

Fidelity Information Services (Jacksonville, Fla.) has signed a multiyear application management and development agreement with Fifth Third (Cleveland). Fidelity will upgrade the bank's lending system and support the bank's growth in consumer lending.

Commerzbank With Verity

Commerzbank (Frankfurt) has selected Verity (Sunnyvale, Calif.) to provide advanced search and categorization on the bank's corporate Web site.
