Teller System Speeds Transactions

Wausau Financial Systems and MORE, Inc. have jointly implemented Optima3 TellerProof, a check image solution that integrates image capture into transaction acceptance at the teller line, re-engineering the traditional workflow required to accept transactions and process them through backroom operations.

Check image capture at the point of presentment reduces repetition of data entry and document inventory, and provides improved customer service.

The TellerProof solution also prepares banks and other financial institutions for the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, which will enable transactions to be completely electronic with the paper stopping at the point of presentment, providing cost savings and efficiency improvements.

"Efforts to improve backroom efficiencies are usually achieved at the expense of the front line. This product, however, actually improves processing at both ends of a transaction, which made it an obvious choice for a fast growing institution like ours," according to Kimberli Palmer, senior vice president of operations and IT at Allegiant Bank, St. Louis.

The re-engineering of traditional workflow with Optima3 TellerProof opens many doors to process improvement for financial institutions of all sizes, according to Andy Kurtz, senior product manager at Wausau Financial Systems.

"Complete integration with the Optima3 image platform provides a total end-to-end image solution," Kurtz said.
