How does technology play a role in the volunteering efforts of your organization's employees?
Our use of AngelPoinTS' (Mill Valley, Calif.) volunteer tracking system [AngelPoint's Enterprise Volunteer Solution] isn't the first time that we have had technology available for our volunteer activities at Team Bank of America. We have had a Web site that we have maintained in-house and that we have tried to rebuild to accommodate some of the things that we want it to do as far as communication and tracking.
When we ran across AngelPoints Inc., we saw that it was a ready-made application that was built for companies and the management of their volunteer programs. It was something that could be used by a company of any size for communication and online registration.
What was intriguing was that it was an intuitive application for our associates and employees. It was very easy to sign up online and get e-mail afterwards for evaluation of how the volunteer experience was accepted. Our primary purpose is to better communicate what opportunities are available for volunteers in order to make it easier for them to sign up, and to have an evaluation after the fact.
