OBS Launches Commercial Mobile Banking Service
Atlanta-based Online Banking Solutions (OBS) announced today that it has launched Messenger Mobile Services, a new mobile channel to further support commercial banking transactions for banks' business customers via Online Messenger, the vendor's multi-channel delivery platform.
Messenger Mobile Services allows banks to offer customers a mobile banking channel with applications for the Apple iPhone and BlackBerry mobile devices, according to a press release. OBS says that Online Messenger already supports SMS text message notifications, but now users will be able to view account balance, transaction information and special reports; initiate account-to-account transfers, pre-defined payments or payment batches; and receive service alerts, payment advices and urgent notifications.
A one-time pass code for entitled business accounts and subscribed services provides enhanced security. Additional functionality includes secure transaction approvals and positive pay exception and decision support, OBS says.
"Adding the mobile channel is a logical extension of Online Messenger and a new value-add product for OBS' client banks," Dan Myers, CEO and founder for OBS, said in the release. "To date, most mobile banking implementations have been for consumers, but in today's economic environment, financial executives need to have anytime-anywhere access to business bank accounts as well."
