MasterCard Unveils ATM Hunter iPhone App

MasterCard (Purchase, N.Y.) has introduced a new application for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch that is designed to help users find ATMs.

MasterCard's ATM Hunter is a free app that uses the device's location awareness technology to pinpoint the whereabouts of ATMs. According to MasterCard, users can customize their hunt based on their unique banking needs, such as focusing their search to a specific financial institution if they need to make a deposit or wish to avoid ATM withdrawal fees. MasterCard ATM Hunter can also pinpoint wheelchair accessible, drive-through, or 24-hour access ATMs and provide the directions to get there.

ATM Hunter runs on MasterCard's Location Services Platform and is the first in a series of free apps the company is developing for the Apple devices.
