Barclaycard US Joins Up With Google Wallet
BarclayCard US, the American payments arm of London-based banking giant Barclays, became the latest financial instrument to align itself with Google Wallet.
Barclaycard US said it will encourage its cardholders to save their card to Google Wallet and select it as their default payment choice. Once signed up, Barclaycard cardholders will see a full-color image of their card as a Google Wallet payment option – which the bank says will promote usage and confidence about which payment account is being used.
Google Wallet will initially be promoted to Barclaycard customers in the L.L.Bean and US Airways co-branded card programs, said the bank.
When it was initially released, only select Citi MasterCard Cards and Google Prepaid Card could be used with Google Wallet. In August, Google announced new version of the Google Wallet that supports all credit and debit cards from Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
