Banks Can Earn Recognition for Online Efforts

Organizers of the Webby Award are seeking entrants for the 13th annual installment of this online honor. And even banks can enter.

The Webby is an international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile Websites. The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy. Last year, 10,000 entries were received from over 60 countries.

The 2007 winners in the Banking/Bill Paying and Financial Services categories were peer-to-peer lending sites LendingClub and Zopa, respectively.

The deadline for entering The 13th Annual Webby Awards is December 19, 2008. To enter work in more than 100 categories, visit webbyawards.com. Nominees for the 13th Annual Webby Awards will be announced in April 2009, and winners will be honored at a gala ceremony in New York in June 2009.
