Bank of Queensland to Implement Mobile Banking
The Bank of Queensland in Australia announced it will launch a mobile banking solution for customers in the first half of this year. Customers will be able to check their balances, pay bills, transfer money between their own accounts and into other people's, and authorize transactions on company accounts. They can also SMS BofQ to find the nearest ATM or branch.
According to Dan Musson, group executive, people and corporate services, the new browser-based interface will open the service up to more people than the SMS-based service it currently provides. Further, the solution will use the same level of security as the bank's online banking solution, including transaction verification via BofQ's security token.
The BofQ service will use BankLink Mobile, a browser-based mobile banking solution provided by Sandstone. BankLink Mobile works on any mobile phone with an SSL capable browser, including PDAs and Blackberry devices.
