Bank of Queensland Launches High-Speed Mobile Banking Solution
Bank of Queensland (BOQ) has rolled out new mobile banking services to customers, allowing them to use iPhone or any mobile device with an SSL-capable browser. No personal details are stored on the customer's mobile device.
The mobile banking solution is from Sandstone Technology (North Sydney), vendor of Internet and mobile banking systems as well as loan origination processing systems. The solution features efficient coding and compressed file sizes for fast response time. Very little data is physically transmitted across the mobile network.
Before implementation, the solution underwent rigorous usability research and testing prior to and during its development, according to Sandstone spokesperson Andrew McPherson. "We applied a user centered design process entailing user research and iterations of testing and design. We did this to ensure the best possible user experience and to limit any potential mobile banking take-up issues," he explains.
BOQ has been using an additional Sandstone solution, BankLink, an Internet banking solution, since 2006.
