Bank Molds Solution To Fit Its Needs

UWCU successfully upgrades to Corillian Voyager 3.0 and enhances the online banking and bill payment services available to its more than 91,000 members.

UW Credit Union (UWCU), a $650 million credit union based in Madison, Wis., has successfully upgraded to Corillian Voyager 3.0 and enhanced the online banking and bill payment services available to its more than 91,000 members.

Leveraging the flexibility of Corillian Voyager 3.0 and the tools available through Corillian's developer network program, Corillian DevNet, UWCU's own team of Internet services professionals was able to perform both the upgrade to Corillian Voyager 3.0 and customizations on the user interface.

"We have always prided ourselves on being self-sufficient when it comes to technology," said Eric Bangerter, director of Internet services at UWCU. "The flexibility and freedom to do our own custom work and development within the Corillian Voyager platform is what attracted us to partner with Corillian."

UWCU benefited from the open architecture of Corillian Voyager 3.0 and the tools available through the Corillian DevNet program, which allowed it to perform the enhancements itself.

"Corillian helped us when we had questions or ideas to bounce off them," Bangerter said. "We definitely couldn't do it all on our own."

UWCU members now have an enhanced bill payment service that makes it easier to pay bills online, and that provides more options for when payments are made. UWCU has also launched a new look and feel to its online banking service that will make it easier for members to find information.

The Corillian Developer Network (DevNet) offers support for development activities ranging from simple enhancements (e.g., user interface, host interface connections), to upgrades to new Corillian Voyager software versions, to development of new applications on the Corillian Voyager platform.

Through the subscription-based Corillian DevNet program, developers have access to Corillian Voyager documentation, developer guides, case studies, base code, sample code and best practices. DevNet Online also includes a knowledge base of troubleshooting, security, performance tips and frequently asked questions.

In addition, DevNet Online includes developer tools written by Corillian engineering and professional services personnel such as advisory, troubleshooting, data conversion and data migration tools.
