TD Banknorth (Portland, Maine) chose Verint's (Melville, N.Y.). Ultra analytics solution to enhance customer services by understanding the root cause of customer calls.

***AmEx Finds Safe Harbor

American Express (New York) will acquire Harbor Payments, an Atlanta-based provider of electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP) systems. AmEx will use Harbor's technology as the basis of a new suite of source-to-settle electronic purchasing systems.

Bank of Smithtown (New York) selected the SilverLake core processing solution from Jack Henry & Associates (Monett, Mo.).

***HSBC Selects Aleri

HSBC Private Bank (London) selected Aleri Labs' (Chicago) Streaming Platform to improve data-processing capabilities. The solution allows financial institutions to build high-speed event processing applications with data capture, event detection, and data aggregation and analysis capabilities.

***Sovereign Expands DiCom Relationship

To help manage credit risk, Sovereign Bank (Wyomissing, Pa.) will add the Portfolio Analysis and Portfolio Management solutions from DiCom (Orlando, Fla.).

***Northwest Licenses Harland Solutions

Northwest Savings Bank (Warren, Pa.) has licensed Harland Financial Solutions' (Atlanta) Encore! Solution and Touché Analyzer MCIF as part of an enterprisewide effort to upgrade the bank's teller automation platform and deploy new CRM technology.

***Interbank Picks Reveleus

Lima, Peru-based Interbank chose the Operational Risk platform from Reveleus (Mumbai), a business of i-flex solutions, to monitor enterprisewide operational risk on a continuous basis for real-time remediation and escalation.

***Metavante, Unisys Team

Metavante (Milwaukee) and Unisys (Blue Bell, Pa.) will provide hardware distribution and fulfillment services for banks offering distributed check capture services to merchants. As part of the deal, Metavante will offer Unisys scanners.

***Equifax Teams With GuardID for Authentication

Equifax (Atlanta) will offer GuardID Systems' (San Mateo, Calif.) ID Vault consumer-directed two-factor authentication solution and the GuardID Trusted Network to Equifax Personal Solutions customers.
