Association Update
The 20th annual Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) Midwinter Conference will take place on January 28-29, 2003 in Washington D.C.
The two day conference, entitled "Operating in a Political World--New Rules, New Game," is being held in association with Georgetown University and brings together over 150 international banking executives and financial experts to discuss the global financial markets.
This speaker pine up for this year's program includes Kenneth Dam, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury and John Lipsky, chief economist, JP Morgan Chase.
The program agenda will focus on current industry concerns: the US financial markets; the global capital markets; Basel 2; Trade Promotion Authority; insurance in a weakening credit market; the status of the IMF's sovereign debt restructuring mechanism; the USA Patriot Act and a report card on Continuous Linked Settlement--among other topics.
