Ginger Schmeltzer Leaves SunTrust for New Position at Fiserv

Schmeltzer will lead Fiserv's efforts in the mobile payments area after more than 4 years at SunTrust.

Ginger Schmeltzer, formerly the senior vice president of Digital Channel Management at SunTrust Bank, has been hired to fill the new position of senior vice president, Emerging Payments, Digital Payments Solutions, at technology solutions provider Fiserv. Fiserv said in a statement released this morning announcing the news that Schmeltzer will lead the company's efforts in the release of new payments solutions, with an initial focus on mobile payments.

In her previous post at SunTrust Schmeltzer managed the bank's online and mobile banking channels, as well as its digital money movement initiatives. She was also in charge of the bank's online sales and website. During her tenure she helped develop the bank's mobile, P2P and electronic billing and payment strategies, according to the statement form Fiserv. Schmeltzer spent more than 4 years at Sun Trust in multiple posts.

Before her time at SunTrust she worked at the Edgar, Dunn & Company consulting firm, where she led the firm's efforts in mobile financial services. Fiserv noted that Schmeltzer also has experience in international sales and global marketing.

"Ginger's skills and talents are an ideal fit with what we envisioned, and her deep and diverse experience will help Fiserv anticipate and meet demand for our existing mobile and payments services while also addressing emerging opportunities," Rahul Gupta, group president of Digital Payment Solutions at Fiserv, who will soon be overseeing Schmeltzer as she transitions to her new role, said.
