UniBank Taps Archiving System

UniBank has licensed SERsynergy to manage customer account information.

UniBank, which offers personal and business banking services to over 60,000 customers in the Blackstone Valley areas of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, has licensed SERsynergy, an integrated document management system from SER Solutions, Dulles, Va., to manage customer account information.

UniBank selected SERsynergy because of its open modular design and robust functionality, which will allow it to add new modules as business expands. As part of the initial implementation, UniBank will replace its COLD/Report archive system with SERsynergy's feature-rich Reports Module.

Once the reports are archived, SERsynergy will offer greater efficiency and responsiveness to UniBank customers with immediate access to bank statements, notices, daily transactions and balance journals from any accounting, deposit, loan or branch location.

SERsynergy is a flexible solution for the storage and retrieval of the bank's daily reports generated from Aurum's Miser core processing system.

SERsynergy's Reports Module combined with its document imaging features will allow UniBank to realize optimal business performance, according to Betty A. Therrien, vice president at UniBank.

"After seeing the capabilities of SERsynergy's client server application, it was clear to us that this product would provide an immediate return on investment, enhance staff productivity and enable us to give our customers faster and more efficient service," she said.

"By replacing our previous system," added Therrien, "SERsynergy will allow us to implement a truly comprehensive document management system with increased cost savings and enhanced service benefits."

Along with the SERsynergy Reports Module, UniBank plans to use SERsynergy's Document Module to replace its paper-based file storage system. Document Module will provide a secure archival of critical customer and account documentation. The financial information archived in SERsynergy will be accessed and viewed from a desktop computer, eliminating the need for traditional filing systems which are labor intensive and costly to maintain.

Other SER Solutions products include SERbrainware-core learning technology which analyzes, understands, and responds to information with human-like intelligence, enabling fast and informed decisions.

Other elements of SER's knowledge-enabled software suite include SERdistiller, SERsynergy, SERglobalBrain, SERiMail, SER's Call Processing System, eDM and SERprocess.

Over 3,000 organizations worldwide use SER's software components to strengthen and maximize workplace productivity, improve business efficiency and enhance customer service.
