Bank of Australia Installs Syntegra
New switch for new Hong Kong facilities.
As part of a relocation to new facilities, The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) operation based in Hong Kong recently upgraded its voice trading technology by installing Syntegra's (Arden Hills, Minn.) ITS p31 telephony switch-providing full voice trading functionality for smaller trading rooms-in an implementation that was launched this past March. Syntegra was also responsible for project managing the technical aspects of the relocation, ensuring that it ran smoothly with minimum disruption to the day-to-day business of the bank. The new Hong Kong office went live with the project in July.
"When it was decided to relocate Commonwealth Bank's Hong Kong premises, we also decided to fully modernize the operating environment. This included a new approach to the dealing environment, creating a modern, well set-out and efficient dealing room," says Daniel Bilski, head of finance and operations, CBA.
Traders at the new office are using IP-ready ITS pV405Hi and ITS pV105Hi turrets and pVs81Hi speakers, running on ITS Release 15 software. CBA Hong Kong also installed Syntegra's ITSprofile for effective configuration and monitoring of the ITS platform. The installation replaces older Syntegra technology.
"Syntegra was also responsible for project managing the relocation of the IT infrastructure, provision of a new UPS, design and set up of the server room and assisting with other telecoms and security installations, and also provided full post-implementation support where required," says Bilski.
