First Tennessee Upgrades Mobile Banking App

Next generation to include bill payment via iPhone.

While some banks are working on their first-generation mobile banking applications, First Tennessee is rolling out upgraded apps for the iPhone and other smart phones, coinciding with Verizon's launch of its iPhone 4G. The upgraded applications include a new mobile bill pay feature.

"Apps are changing so quickly, often by the minute, so we are working to keep up with the technology and give our customers the functions they want -- and some they haven't even thought of," said David Popwell, chief operating officer for First Tennessee. "We're constantly on the lookout for the next great thing that can make our customers continue to love banking with us."

First Tennessee's mobile banking app lets customers check account balances, transfer funds between accounts, view recent transactions and find the nearest ATM or financial center. The mobile bill pay upgrade allows customers to pay bills, see payments made or cancel payments.

First Tennessee, with more than 180 branches in and around Tennessee, is part of the First Horizon National Corp.
