Banno's New Website Design Format Simplifies Multi-Channel Banking

Tech provider Banno announced a new website design format today that integrates a bank's website across different browsers and devices.

Banno, a financial services technology provider formerly known as T8 Webware, announced a new website design format that will offer a shared URL for all of a bank's digital channels. Banks using the new format will no longer have to manage different sites for online, mobile and tablet devices. Updates to the website will be applied across channels, providing easier management and compliance, merged workflows and improved SEO and analytic data, according to Banno.

The design format automatically responds to any device or browser and fits to the device's screen size. This will make it easier, Banno said, to prepare for and implement multi-channel banking, as mobile devices are set to overtake computers as the main access point to the internet for consumers by 2014.

One of the first Banno clients to implement the new format was Daleville, Alabama-based Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union. The credit union saw more than 250,000 visits to its website in the first month after implementing the new format, with 10 percent of those visits from mobile devices. The most frequently used mobile device used to visit the site was the iPad, accounting for 7,739 visits. The iPhone came in second with 4,723 visits. Mobile visitors now have full access to the website and all of its capabilities with their mobile devices.

"It is clear that mobile device usage is increasing and will continue to increase exponentially," said Lisa Hills, the credit union's vice president of marketing, in a statement. "With Banno's responsive design websites, we are prepared to meet the needs of any member's personal [device] preferences."
